Anna Cannon Gaskin, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. She grew up in Ft. Barnwell, NC and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. Anna was a loving mother, wife and friend who enjoyed family gatherings, traveling and remembering special times with her loved ones.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Gaskin. She is survived by her four children, Cynthia Harcrow (Chuck), George (Shirlene), Tim (Paula), and Richard (Kimberly); seven grandchildren, Sean, Brianna, Cannon, Shelby Corring (David), Cristin Johnson (Alan), Rebecca and Erin; and her great grandchild, Salka Corring. She was also close to several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family expresses deep gratitude to Anna’s very special Home Instead caregivers, Sally, Lyda, Shanika, Donna, Henna and Egypt, who cared for her daily with hearts and hands. Sincere thanks also to Heartland Hospice and Dr. Stephens.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m. in Westminster Woods Auditorium in Julington Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Home Society or Pinecastle, Inc.
