

We are saddened to inform you of the passing into eternal life of Ann Shunnarah Hassan, 72, of Jacksonville, Florida. Ann departed to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, with her family by her side.
Ann was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 9th, 1950, to the late Salem and Huda Shunnarah. Ann lived in Birmingham until she met her loving husband, Fred Hassan. They married November 11, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida where they raised their family. Ann instilled in her children values of integrity, altruism, leadership, and gratitude. She worked side by side with Fred for many years building their family business, Suncoast RV. She was a doting wife to Fred and loving mother to their two children. Ann was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration for her family, always ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and spending time with them. Her most treasured times were those with her six grandchildren. Ann’s compassion knew no bounds, and she was a devout Christian who loved attending mass at Holy Family Catholic Church as well as Bible study with her friends.
Ann is survived by her husband, Fred Hassan; her loving children Salem (Alana) Hassan, Tracy (Mike) Goodwin of Jacksonville; her beautiful grandchildren Max, Zoey, Lola and Cooper Goodwin; Harper and Charlie Hassan; her sister Janan (Omar) Farhat of Jacksonville and two brothers Kenny (Amal) Shunnarah and David (Inez) Shunnarah of Birmingham, Alabama and many extended family members and wonderful friends.
Services to honor the remarkable life of Ann will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32256, Thursday, July 6th, 2023. Visitation with be held from 10am-11am with a funeral mass beginning at 11am. A graveside burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Fl 32207. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
