Alan Wayne Woods,

Alan Wayne Woods, Sr. 63, passed away on Saturday February 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 25, 1951 in North Hampton County, West Virginia to James Benjamin Woods and Tami Mae Arnold Woods. Alan moved to Jacksonville in 1961 first working for CSX Railroad and then was a Plumber for W. W. Gay for 19 years. He loved all kinds of sporting events especially football and basketball. Alan was a very good, loving and quiet man who enjoyed spending time listening to Jazz. He loved his family and will be dearly missed by all.His survivors include his devoted wife and partner for 32 years, Violet Kolb Woods; daughter, Chontel Gergar; sons, Alan Wayne Woods, Jr. (Tanika), Antonio Woods (Latoya) and Michael Watson (Dailn); 13 Grandchildren and numerous other relatives and wonderful friends.A Memorial Service for Alan will be held 2:00 pm Sunday February 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. 32211.
