Adeline Miller Whitehead

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Lamar Whitehead and a brother, Joseph Paul "Jim" Miller. Surviving are her children, Shirley (Jim) Lear, Steven (Danalynn) Whitehead, Robert Melvin (Gail) Whitehead, Terry (Dori) Whitehead and Debby (Steve) Martinson, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Betty (Jack) Allen, Helen Wilson, Bo (Barbara) Miller and Marilyn Sanders and numerous other relatives and dear friends.

She was a native of Jacksonville and attended Andrew Jackson High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and always faithful to her church, most recently Southside Baptist Church. She was a talented florist for many years and owned and operated Highland Florist prior to retirement.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 4–6 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave. Services will be held on Monday, February 22 at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church, 1435 Atlantic Blvd., with Rev. Gary Webber officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
