Addie was born on August 11, 1935 in Shelby, Tennessee. She lived as a young child in Atlanta, Georgia, and Tucson, Arizona before her family settled in Tallahassee, FL. It was there that she met her future husband Cleatus, through the Thomasville Road Baptist Church. Addie and Cleatus moved to Jacksonville where they welcomed two daughters, Debra and Susan. While busy raising two daughters, Addie was a dedicated volunteer at schools and local organizations, including the Garden Club of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful. After Cleatus began his own business, Landmark Technologies, Addie turned her attention to helping Cleatus run his digital mapping company.
In addition to her devotion and service to her family, she also enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling with her family. She loved gathering family recipes and helped create several family cookbooks.
