EMERY Worthington (Worthy) Emery 80, passed away on June 28, 2012. He was born March 27, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida to Leroy and Anna Louise Emery (predeceased). He was the baby of four sons, his brothers, Raiford, Ned and John (predeceased). He grew up an avid horseman and spent many years working with other cowboys in the area. After working 37 years with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad, he retired and spent many years transporting children to Tampa Shriners Hospital, serving as Co-Chairman of Transportation. Worthy was a 54 year member of Woodstock Park Masonic Lodge #313 and life time member of Morocco Shrine Temple, a charter member of West Jax Shrine Club and member of the Road Runners Motorcycle Unit. A long time member of Woodstock Park Baptist Church. When he wasn't spending time helping others, he spent time with the love of his life, his wife of over fifty-nine years, Betty. He is also survived by his daughter Cindy Emery, his son, Rick and daughter in law Paula Jean Emery and his two beloved grandsons, Christopher Emery and Steven Bozeman, Nephews, Steven Emery, Fred Emery, David Emery, Terry Dykes, Mark Dykes, Niece, Elaine Bedell, several great Nieces and Nephews, Brother in Law Gene Dykes and many loving and devoted friends. The family is looking forward to receiving friends and family to celebrate Worthy's life on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hardage Giddens, 729 S. Edgewood Ave. Jacksonville. The service will be held at the same location on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., with graveside services at Riverside Memorial Park, with the Reverand Rick Baldwin officiating In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriner's Children's Hospitals (shrinershospitalforchildren.org).
