I’m so sorry to hear about Shawn’s passing!
I met Shawn when I was the supervisor for the cleaning crew who took care of his and many other law offices. He was always very kind, and helpful. I had a couple legal issues that he helped me with advice, free of charge.
This is how I found out that he had passed away. I was actually checking to see if he was still practicing in the area.
He made a lasting impression on me of kindness, even though I was only the cleaning guy! 
My condolences to his family. I’m sure he is greatly missed! But of the little bit I experienced of him, I know that kind of character lives on for generations .❤️

now, after reading all said about shawn, i relize that my 19 yr old son[chadwick allen wood] who's lifes's passion was surfing as well he was a lifegaurd @ hanna park and passed 10 years ago hope they did know one another somehow and have connected above in a new line up and yes the good die young has been way to painful for too many, but glad to know the direction they both went in....

heard shawn died thru the grape vine and still do not believe its true he helped me many yrs ago and gave great advice for my invest after my winning suit he handled my invest has grown 3 fold and rising and i owe all to shawn what a loss to jax i love and miss him for obvious reasons and wish for his note and pen to arrive each yr as it no longer will i could use his advise today and my loss once again still stand shoulder to shoulder with him alway,s and forever.

Many prayers and blessings go out to the Pope Family. Shawn was an awesome surfer and a great fishermen as well as a wonderful person. I spent many days surfing with Shawn and his brother Eric. We had a wonderful time surfing and fishing in Costa Rico. There is no doubt that Shawn is catching the best waves in Heaven~

Shawn was a extrodinary person. One of the best surfers in the area. Many good times and waves. I miss those days. Gone but never forgotten.

I only just discovered Shawn passed a few months ago.  He was one of Legal Aid's most dedicated pro bono attorneys as well as being a wonderful, caring human being.  He always gave you his best effort.  I'm deeply saddened and shocked, but I am certain he is at peace.  I will keep the family in my prayers.

Shawn made this world a better place. He will be remembered and missed by so many... he touched so many lives with a kind hand, a warm heart and the greatest smile. I too was lucky to have known him. Goodbye, my old friend. Blessings to your family.

Joyful to think of Shawn "Ripping In Paradise" (RIP).  I don't think he'd be interested in "rest"!  Always a smiling presence.   I met Shawn years ago at Florida Junior College(that is what is was called back then) in Jacksonville.  We talked a few times.  He was proud of his indian heritage.  I later met Shawn in the professional field when he was an attorney and I was working at the State Attorney's Office.  Shawn was always looking out for the best interests of his clients.  May he rest in peace and May God give you the comfort that Shawn in now with Him.

Last time I saw Shawn I was at the poles at Hanna Park and pregnant w/ my twin girls, became good friends w/ him thru my brother n law Eric Boone and my sister Amy, watching him surf and all that long hair, that was 25 yrs ago and I will never 4get how sweet he was 2 me and my son while I was toting my 2 girl load walking in the sand at the jetties and Hanna Park, RIP Shawn, I will never forget the fun we all had in the summers of '86 and '87, many prayers 2 his family and friends...........
