Peter Hapsis, age 26, died suddenly on January 22, 2014. Peter was born in Jacksonville on February 13, 1987, grew up at the Beaches, attended Fletcher and graduated from the Broach School. Peter is survived by his mother, Sharon Hapsis, his brothers Gust III and Timothy, his sister Kate and also by his father, Gust, Jr.
His family and friends will always remember Peter's radiant smile and the way he would look right into your eyes when he spoke to you. He was warm, kind, and had a big heart. Tall and muscular, Peter's pure presence and the sparkle in his eyes will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Many people might be surprised to know that Peter worked hard to develop certain inventions -- focusing primarily on energy-saving transportation.
Peter enjoyed the History and Discovery television channels and could talk at length about historical and scientific issues which interested him. He was a serious student of auto mechanics, and he knew every millimeter of his beloved Honda motorcycle, the chariot on which he last rode when he was taken by his Creator to a place without pain or worry.
Peter's Memorial Service will be held at on Sunday, January 26 at 11am at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage Giddens Funeral Home.
