Pamela B. Strickland, 74, of Jacksonville, FL passed away January 12, 2023. Pam was born in Shreveport, LA on Sept 27, 1948. She graduated from Woodlawn High School and received a Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Psychology from University of North Florida. Pam married Larry Strickland on June 11, 2011.
Pam was a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a career in Child and Adolescent Psychology. At Daniel Memorial she was promoted from a therapist position to Program Director of the new Latency Program for severely emotionally disturbed children ages five to nine from the entire state of Florida. One of the first truly functional Specialized Intensive Long-term Treatment Centers for pre-adolescent children. She joined Child Guidance Center, September 1, 1994, as the Program Director of the South Duval Outpatient location. Later she added the Arlington Outpatient site to her supervision. Pam was the Outpatient Director of all outpatient sites across Duval County for CGC when she retired from CGC on December 31, 2016 after 22 years of service.
Pam was a member of Community Presbyterian Church Atlantic Beach, FL and had a passion for fashion and interior design.
In addition to her husband Larry, Pam is survived by her daughters Nicole Hall (Russell Hall) and Stacey Amaro (Kevin Amaro). Her grandchildren Tristan Hall, Nathan Amaro, Cody Hall and Alea Amaro; her sister Melanie Pigott (David Pigott) and her brother Danny Turrentine (Janice Turrentine).
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm, Jan 28th, at Community Presbyterian Church, 150 Sherry Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233
