Mary Schoolmeesters

Mary Ellen Gobler Schoolmeesters, age 78, went to the Lord surrounded by her family at Northeast Florida Community Hospice on March 11, 2011. She was born in Barron, WI on September 2, 1932. She grew up in Hayward, WI and lived in St. Cloud, MN for 20 years and has since lived in Neptune Beach, FL for the past 13 years. Mary Ellen worked at Dayton’s in St. Cloud, MN for 18 years. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Donald and Michael. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald Schoolmeesters, daughters Claudia Zais of Lake Wales, FL and Bridget (Pete) Andersen of Sauk Rapids, MN, sons David (fiance Elaine) of Waite Park, MN and Jay (Joan) Schoolmeesters of Albany, MN, 4 granddaughters, and 5 grandsons. She is also survived by her brother Roger (Ann) Gobler of Jacksonville, and many nieces and nephews. She was a lover of pets, especially her cat, Daphne.

Memorial services will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
