She was born in Montgomery Alabama and moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida in 1957.
She was the daughter of Patrick H. Tharp, owner Tharp Construction whose company built the Jax. Bch. City Hall, the original Beaches Medical Center, and a large addition to St. Augustine School for the Deaf and Blind.
Marie was a longtime member Beaches Methodist Church and is survived by her three children: Olivia (Toni) Manitiu of Jax. Bch, Sherry Kennedy Green Cove Springs, James Watson of Jax. Bch., eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday March 2, 2018 in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL., with burial to follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
