Lucille Marie Ramputi was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed peacefully after battling terminal cancer for four years, on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by family in Jacksonville, Florida. Lucille was born on November 14th, 1942, in Beacon, NY to Josephine and Peter Ramputi. She grew up in Beacon, NY and graduated from Beacon High School in 1960 and then attended Krissler Business Institute in Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduation, she began her career at IBM in 1961 and worked there until she retired in 1991. After retiring from IBM, she worked as an Office Manager at Patio Products where she finally retired in 2007 and moved to Jacksonville, FL to be near her grandchildren. Lucille never really retired from work, she walked dogs her entire adult life starting in NYC when she worked for IBM and that work followed her through her life and led to quite a successful business in Jacksonville where she finally hung up the leashes in the summer of 2023.
Lucille’s smile and contagious laugh would light up any room she entered. She brought humor, kindness and compassion to every person and situation she encountered. She loved her family, friends, animals, throwing & attending parties, volunteering at church, going to plays, family game nights, watching the Hallmark Channel, she loved watching football & college softball, especially her Noles, her Monday night card game, playing mahjongg, traveling, baking, dining out, and she loved cocktails, especially her red wine!
Lucille was SO many things to SO many people. Her family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren. She adored them, spent as much time as she could with them and never missed one of their activities. There will never be enough time or words to fully describe the extraordinary woman she was. If you were lucky enough to know her then your life was better because of it. There was no one like her and this world without her is impossible to imagine and will never be the same. She was a true warrior and fought the good fight with more courage, strength, positivity, humor, unwavering faith and pure will to live than most have ever known.
She was the embodiment of a woman that walks with faith and lived her life emphasizing the Fruit of the Spirit.
Her passing was so peaceful. The song Temporary Home from Carrie Underwood was playing and then her favorite song, Amazing Grace, came on right after. She was in her favorite red cardinal pajamas, holding her mom’s rosaries and surrounded by her family.
There is not a doubt that when she met Jesus face to face that He said, “Well done my good and faithful servant”.
She is survived by her daughters, Jo Adcock (Brian) and Nicole Avens (Mark), her grandchildren, Jake and Avery Adcock and Mason and Julia Avens. She is also survived by her brother Peter Ramputi (Kathy) and sister, Gloria Papo (Dom) and several nieces and nephews Amanda Favalle (Chris), Michael Evans (Meghan) and Tonya Martino (Drew). Lucille was preceded in death by her loving parents, Josephine, and Peter Ramputi.
