“Leo “Lee” Dale White, 69 of Jacksonville Beach FL went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Lee was born on August 19, 1943, in Saint Petersburg, FL to Paul & Amanda White. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy on March 24, 1964 and served until May 22, 1967 on the USS Everglades, Charleston SC as a cook. Lee chose to make Jacksonville his home.
He loved the beach and went to watch the sunrise every morning. He also enjoyed going to the grand openings of Chick-fli-a around the state, we think he wanted to see just how many free meal tickets he could collect, which he shared with everyone.
He is survived by two sisters, Naomi Lee, St. Petersburg & Carolene Martin, Jacksonville; two brothers, Chester and Darrell White, Brooksfield and lots of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his lifelong partner of 41 years, William D. Bishop, February 2013 and his brother Earl White, May 2012.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 1:30 PM at the Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. His final resting place will be Jacksonville National Cemetery in a private family service. To our brother, uncle and dear friend, Lee we will dearly miss you and remember you as we watch the sunrise over beach.”
