Kathleen Allan Craig passed peacefully July 2, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Born August 22, 1931 in Yonkers, NY, Kay grew up along the Hudson River. She graduated from Hastings High School and married Don Craig in 1955, having known each other since age 10. Kay worked with AT&T in NYC and retired after 25 years of service.
She was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Kay took great delight in each and every accomplishment of her 5 children and 9 grandchildren. She never missed a baseball, football, soccer or lacrosse game, band concert, swim meet, dance recital, scouting event, karting race, art show, school play or graduation. She was never happier than when the family gathered for birthdays, holidays or celebrations. She loved and nurtured all children who came her way.
Those cherishing her memory are Donald, devoted husband of 56 years, loving sister and best friend Martha Brew (Richard), sister Dorothy Stallone, brother Tom Allan (Bernice), brother Bill Allan (deceased). Beloved children Susan Turner (Steve), Cathy Raybon (James), Don Craig (Becky), Laurie Melancon (DeJean), Kelly Craig (sadly missed daughter-in-law Cindy). Grandchildren Jennifer and Steve Turner, Kevin and Kyle Craig, Matt, Jeff and Michael Melancon, Taylor and Alex Craig. Nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and always welcomed granddogs.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on July 9, 2011 at 10am at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 8264 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL.
The family wishes to thank Northeast Florida Community Hospice, McGraw Center, for their loving care.
