John William Schuler went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2012 after a long, brave battle with lung cancer. He was born October 12, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio. John served in the United States Navy for 4 years and took the First World Cruise tour on the USS Enterprise. He was a graduate of Florida State University. John started his career with Chevron and Ortho Chemical. He was also a member of the Rotary and Lyons Club in Kentucky. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Debary. In Debary, John and Judy were the owners of Freedom Mobility, a geriatric care mobility business for many years prior to his retirement.
John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy Rice Schuler; daughters Mary Beth Hale and Theresa Lea Schuler; grandchildren Dylan and Sydney Hale; sisters Doris Lee Hall and Judith Ann Jones and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of John’s life will be held 3pm Sunday, February 12 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, with Rev. Jim Jacobs officiating.
