I hope the pain of losing your Mother has eased during the past year.  God gives the comfort that can be found nowhere else.  Your family visits to Belview Road will always be a special part of my childhood memories.  May your future be blessed. Keep in touch.

I am so sorry I waited so long to find out about Mrs. Tipton.  I was her last student teacher before she became a principal at Sherrouse Elementary. She is the reason I have been a teacher for 35 years.  She spun magic in the classroom. To this day I still teach by many rules she taught me about children.

Bill: I was sorry to hear of my Aunt Jeanne's passing. I'll always cherish her notes of encouragement to me in my political endeavors always knowing she knew Pa Roux would be so proud. I was blessed to have visited with her a few years ago on our way to Disney. She loved Becky and she always asked about Mom and, of course, my VJ. Bill, we were so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mom was a very special person. We so enjoyed the pictures, and they brought back many fond memories. We are grateful we were able to visit with her recently.

Every time I eat pineapple or pimento cheese spread, I think that it's not nearly as good as Aunt Jeanne's fresh pineapple and pimento cheese!! Please keep in touch.

     When my uncle, Lawrence, married Jeanne, he really enhanced the lives of the Tipton family.  Jeanne was a "breath of fresh air;" a young French maiden from Thibodeaux, Louisiana.  Quite different from the culture of Vernon Parish.

     We all fell in love with Jeanne.  A teacher, a mentor, a spiritual person who chose to teach and guide by example.

     She helped us all to grow in wisdon and in spirit.  She will always live in my memory and I thank God that Lawrence chose her to be his life mate and a member of the Tipton family. 

     Jeanne, I love and miss you but I know we will see one another again.  Thank you for your kindness and inspiration.

Jeanne, Thanks for all the fun we had so many years ago. You were a great teacher and I appreciate all you were to me.

Sorry about your loss. Life does go on.  I always thought it was so neat to have someone with French descent in our family. I always thought she was so petite and pretty. Thinking of you at this time.

Jeanne, I remember you a very classy lady and I still carry with me lessons learned from you and Papa.  I still have the books you gave to me and I recall now how they were an inspiration to me and how they helped me through some tough transitions in my earlier life as a young man.
You were a very good, thoughtful grandmother and I am very saddened at your passing. My memories of you will live on.

I would like to have known you more. You always made me feel welcome, and I am glad I got what time I did with you. Your stories of your childhood will stay with me forever. I will miss you.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Your mom was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and educator. We enjoyed the pictures.... so many memories of her to keep with you. I can remember how excited we were when Aunt Jeanne came for a visit to Thibodaux with her cats.

Enjoyed looking at the pictures, especially the one of your Leesville Grandparents' home, where so many family visits were made.  The last memory that I have of your Mother was about 25  years ago when she visited our newly built home.  Our son was about 5 or 6 and I had to correct him.  She was so supportive of the way I handled the situation.  Commenting that it was nice to hear a parent say 'no' and stick to it.  She also offered encouraging remarks about my dealing with teachers in my Head Start program.   She shared some of the experiences that she had dealt with in her tenure as principal.  She looked and acted the part of a professional educator.  I am sure she impacted a huge number of students through her years in education. But, most of all I know she was proud of her son and grandson.  May God bless you at this time of sorrow and may the loving memories of your Mother continue to guide your life and future.
