Jean Marie Burke

Born in Washington, DC she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Sweeney Ward.

Jean moved to Jacksonville in 1980 from Norfolk, VA.

She was Past South East Regional President (1990 – 1991) and active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserves, Atlantic Beach.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Brenda Halveston, Norma Chlebo, and Nancy Thompson; brother, Michael Orr; sister, Carol Rigle; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and her best friend, Mary Kulawinski-Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James and her son, Kenneth Richard Wheaton.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel with burial to follow in Beaches Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00pm at the funeral home.
