Jason graduated from Wyotech in December, 2012 as a Certified Motorcycle Mechanic and worked for Camping World of Jacksonville. Jason loved bikes, had a passion for fixing and repairing them and enjoyed the thrill of the ride.
He was a huge sports fan and stuck to his root in cheering (YUUU!) on his home teams the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. Jason had a huge heart, he always tried to hide under his hard exterior, however, his close family and friends could see right through it. Jason had a special place in his heart for animals, especially Pit Bulls; along with a passion for saving them. If he could, he would have saved them all.
Jason is survived by his father and mother; Gerald Platz and Patricia Platz of Jacksonville, Florida; his daughters; Ashleigh and Alivia Baer of Green Bay, Wisconsin; his son; Ryan Platz of Jacksonville, Florida; his sisters; Amy Platz-Stauffeneker of Andover, Minnesota and Jamie Platz of Jacksonville, Florida; his brother; Bryan Platz of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; his beloved dogs; Ares; Vesta; Athena; Flex; Angel and Maze; along with 4 nephews; 1 niece, 9 uncles, 5 aunts and 21 cousins. Jason is predeceased by his grandparents; Orville and Charlotte Krugerud and Donald and Jacqueline Platz; his uncle; Dean Krugerud and his cousin; Shannon Platz.
He is loved unconditionally by his family, girlfriend (Jeanie), and friends from around the world. His story has not ended as his memories and passions will live on forever in all our hearts. Jason you will be missed but never forgotten. WE LOVE YOU JASON!
This is a statement we believe Jason lived by in his passion for saving Pit Bulls;
“I dream of a day when no “Pit Bull” is killed in a shelter. I dream of a day when a dog is judged by the content of their character, not the shape of their head. I dream of a day when the words “Pit Bill” makes people smile instead of hiding their children behind them in fear. Every day I follow my dream…(Unknown)”
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Pit Bull Rescue in Jason Michael Platz name.
The family will plan a Memorial Service at a later date to be conducted in Minnesota.
