HILL- Iris Hill, 78, passed away April 20, 2010. She was born in Kingstree, South Carolina, and had resided in Neptune Beach since the 1950’s. She was a member of Neptune Baptist Church. Iris was an avid gardener, loved the beach, but most important in her life was her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tally Hill, and daughter Lynn Schlock. Survivors include her husband, J.T. Hill; son, Richard Hill; daughter, Beth Vissman; brother, Tom Phillips; three sisters, Margaret Nicholson, Lois Hodge, Anne Prosser; five grandchildren, Lisa Schlock, Josh Vissman, Dillon Vissman, Chalette Hartwig, and Rick Hill; and three great-grandchildren, Claire Story, Jessie Hartwig, and Crew Hartwig.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at H.Warren Smith Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
