He was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 13, 1990. Ian graduated from Duncan U. Fletcher High School in 2008. He pursued studies in the culinary arts and training as an auto mechanic.
Ian was known for his fierce loyalty to his family and friends. He never found himself in room of strangers for long. He led with compassion continuously sought to serve, help and please others.
At the end of his life, Ian gave the ultimate selfless gift; the gift of a second chance to others through organ donorship. May your heart always beat strong, may your eyes take in the world’s wonders, may you be able to filter out life’s troubles, and hopefully you find relief as often as possible.
To his son, Jordan, we hope you always remember how your Father loved you dearly. He found so much joy in playing with you, whether it was jumping in the pool and with a fully loaded water gun or chasing you through the house, dogs barking at his heels, he embraced the fun times he had with you. Your Dad was quick to boast about you and your accomplishments, but most importantly he loved you with all his heart. You forever changed his life and gave him meaning and a purpose. Please know that family is forever, and we are always here for you.
Ian is survived by his Son, Jordan Sanders, 9, his Super Hot Brother, Evan and his Sister-in-law Mandy, his Mother, Jenny and her Husband Rod McFate and his Daughters Shannon McFate and Dierdre Rafferty. His Grandparents, Dr. Drayton and Mary Etta Sanders. His Uncle Mark and Aunt Beth Kernan, Uncle Cab and Aunt Tammy McIvor, Uncle Tom and Aunt Ann Finn. His Niece Lorelei and Nephew Rowan. His Cousins Mitch, Kelly, Mason, Mackenzie, Katie, Christopher, Joey, Cab Jr., Justin, Amelia, Giovanni, Arianna, and Christopher Jr.
