Evelyn J. Socks Beatty, 76, passed away May 17, 2010. She was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville. Most recently she resided in Boston, Georgia with her husband. Mrs. Beatty was a member of the Bretheren Church, the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion.
Survivors include her loving husband, Truitt; her children, Donald E. Socks (Beth), Rochelle Makowsky, Patricia Jean Nedeau (Ed), Jackie Socks Boucher (Richard), and John Socks (Agnes); a sister, Linda Wilson (George) and a brother, Donald Ridenour (Joyce) both of Maryland; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday, May 21, 2010, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
