David Scott Thomas

David Scott Thomas, 74, Jacksonville, FL, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was born June 22, 1940, Booneford, NC to parents Willie Mae Young Thomas and Dewitt Talmadge Thomas. From the mountains of NC to the shores of Wilmington, NC, David grew up in a family filled with love and laughter. He had a full and productive life including as a valued Pantry Pride employee and his love of travel across this country.

He could recite sports statistics with great precision especially about his beloved Detroit Tigers and Washington Redskins and UNC Tarheels. David was predeceased by his parents and eldest brother James McDonald Thomas (Joyce), Lafayette, LA. David is survived by his sister Mary Louise Thomas Greene (Mrs. George), Morganton, NC; brother Harry Edwin Thomas (Joyce), North Myrtle Beach, SC; brother John McDaniel Thomas (Dana), Neptune Beach, FL along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Celebration will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, Beaches Museum Chapel, Beaches Museum & History Park, 381 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL. Interment will be at Lily Branch Cemetery, Bakersville, NC at a later date. Memorial service attendees are encouraged to wear Carolina Blue and bring a typed/written personal memory of David to read or have read.
