To the family of Col. Carl Crumpler,
My thoughts are with you this Veterns Day. When I was a child, I remember the day I went to pick up my POW/MIA bracelet here in Omaha, NE etched with his name. I was honored to represent him during his ordeal. I wrote and received a letter & photo from your family which I still have. I kept his name from the local newspaper when he was released and proudly removed the bracelet, broke it in half and returned to celebrate his coming home. In addition my parents both served in the navy during WWII. Thank you for his service and being an important part of my life. God bless America.

Carlos and I are just heartbroken to hear of the Colonel’s passing. He was such a fine man and an esteemed military officer. What an honor and privilege it was for us to meet him some years back. It’s a memory we have always held very dear. We are beyond grateful for his extreme service to our country as well as your mom’s and your family’s.  May your love for each other and your best memories sustain you all now. Please give your mom a big hug from us and know that we are praying for God’s comfort over all of you.
