Brad was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert Lyon and Thelma Frances (Boswell) McNew; a graduate of Hillwood High School, in Nashville, TN; he then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Tennessee Technical University in Cookville, TN. He was married to Elda on December 31, 1994 and to this loving union two children were born, Liam Robert and Elizabeth Rose.
Brad's career as a law enforcement officer was spent as a dual certified Corrections Officer and Police Officer with the City of Jacksonville, Sheriff's Office (JSO). A member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach, Brad had a passion for the history of the Bible; he loved the Lord, the Bible, learning about Theology and the history of all denominations of Christianity and other religions. With his musical education he had a true passion as a percussionist-with drumsticks in every room in the house.
Brad is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Rose McNew; Parents, Robert and Thelma McNew.
He is survived by his loving wife Elda Marie McNew and Son Liam Robert McNew. Aunt, Mildred Puckett and numerous cousins.
A visitation for Brad will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 11757 Old St Augustine Rd #2001, 2001, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
Full honors will follow Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
The family will host a reception after the presentation of Honors at the Beaches Chapel by HARDAGE-GIDDENS, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. 32250 904-249-2374
A graveside service will be held on October 29, 2024 at 12:30pm (CST) in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
