Ann M. Vaccaro

VACCARO- Ann M. Vaccaro, 93, passed away February 17, 2011. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She retired from Avondale Shoe Shop, where she and her husband were co-owners. Ann was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, a Baptist Beaches Medical Center volunteer, on the St. Paul’s Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the AARP, as well as a volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip S. Vaccaro. Survivors include her sister, Sadie Bruno; brother, Anthony Minore; nieces, Josephine Bruno Defore and Linda Bruno; nephew, Peter Bruno; step-son, Samuel Vaccaro and his wife, Lorraine, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; step-daughter-in-law, Frances Vaccaro, and two grandchildren, Vincent Vaccaro and Vicki Shanks; step-granddaughter, Antoinette Herbert; great–grandchildren, Joshua and Olivia; and former step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy D. Jones.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
