Alfred A. Blubaugh, 86, of Jacksonville Beach, passed away peacefully at his home Oct. 4, 2015. He was born in Danville, Ohio on Oct. 6, 1928. Alfred graduated from Danville High School and served two tours in the Korean War. He then became a native of Columbus, Ohio where he studied engineering at Ohio State University and raised six children. He was married to his devoted wife, Annette on June 6, 1986 and was the owner of Alason’s Comfort Systems. He had a passion for golf, travel and fishing.
Preceded in death by his son, Timothy, daughter, Kathleen and three brothers and a sister, Al is survived by his wife, Annette; sons, Patrick, Gregory and Michael; daughter, Christa ; grandchildren, Nichlos, Scott, Ashley, Katie, Andrew and Emily; great-granddaughter, Adison; and mother of his children, Joann Young of Jacksonville Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10th in St. Pauls Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach with burial to follow, with military honors, at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice of Jacksonville.
