Wilma Jean Benson

Jean was born in Arkansas on November 2, 1944 to the late Allison Sylvester and Nellie Rhea Sees. She married James Benson in 1983. Jean will be remembered for her love for the Lord, her infectious laugh, her joy of baking and trying new recipes from her collection of cookbooks. Jean was an active member of Victory Worship Center in Jackson where she was lovingly referred to as Sister B.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James Benson.

She is survived by her sons, Kurt, Scott, and Roy Meachum; stepsons, Michael Joseph, Stephen and Matthew Benson; stepdaughter, Marcia Woolcott (Marlo); and her many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Victory Worship Center, 333 Old Humboldt Rd., Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by J.P. Stovall. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
