Wanza Burcham Wingo

Mrs. Wingo was born on July 31, 1931 in Alcorn County, MS to the late Hughie E. and Adelle Kenmar Burcham. She was educated in the Alcorn County Schools and attended Secretarial school. After her marriage to James Cecil Wingo, she moved to Memphis where she served as an Executive Secretary in many prominent positions throughout her career in the Memphis area.

She and Cecil are members of First Baptist Church Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Wingo of Jackson; daughter, Cheryl Dozier of Hohenwald, TN; two grandsons, James and John Chatham of Murfreesboro; and two brothers, Huie E. Burcham (Lila) of Pickwick, TN and Karey Lane Burcham of Glen, MS.

The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. today, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with the funeral service following at 11 a.m., officiated by Bro. Dan Bruce. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.
