Virginia Ruth Carnal Roberts

Virginia Ruth Carnal Roberts was born on January 27, 1929 to Walter Dewey and Lora Ruth Rush Carnal. She died at NorthCliff Assisted Living in Lexington, TN on September 27, 2024. She was 95 years old.

She was born in Henderson County and educated there. She was a faithful member of the Campbell Street Church of Christ for many years. Later she attended Fairview Church of Christ in Lexington, TN. She was employed in a number of places as a sales clerk in Jackson, TN. One of her greatest enjoyments was cooking for her family and having them all together. She took a lot of pride working in her yard and her flowers.

Mrs. Roberts was married to C. Warren Roberts, former Sheriff of Madison County, who preceded her in death in 2014. Jackson had been their home since 1945, with the exception of for years during the Korean War while Mr. Roberts served in the United States Air Force. After Mr. Roberts death she moved to Lexington, TN.

She is survived by her son, Tim Roberts and wife, Deborah of Lexington, TN. Her grandson, Cody Roberts, and his fiancé, Scarlett Sage of Jackson, TN. Her nephew, James Roberts and his wife Jeannie and her niece Gail Walker all of Wildersville, TN.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Roberts was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Elsie Roberts; brothers in law, James Roberts and wife Thelma, and John Wilton Roberts; and nephews, Robert Walker and Jonathan Roberts.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Dan Hughes officiating.
