Tom was born in Toledo, OH on August 11, 1952, son of the late Jean and Robert DeWitt. Tom graduated from the University of Toledo with a business degree in accounting, later receiving a Certified Public Accountant. He married Virginia (Ginny) Dean in 1975. Tom began his career at Jones and Henry Engineering continuing on at the DeVilBiss Co., which moved to Jackson in 1989. He was the company controller and later the CFO of DeVilBiss/Porter Cable and Pentair.
Tom coached Dixie Youth Baseball and was an avid golfer. He loved traveling and yard work.
Tom was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He served on the Vestry and the Diocesan Finance Committee.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Ginny. His sons, Adam (Stephanie), Nathan (Megan), and Sean (Katie), along with 7 grandchildren whom he adored; his sister, Terry Dellinger (Jay) and sister in law, Penny.
Tom loved all his family and valued his friends. Thank you, Tom, for everything. We will all miss you terribly.
A service to celebrate the life of Tom DeWitt will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. Deacon Tommy Rhoads officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a reception in the Parish Hall of St. Luke's Church following the service.
