She was born on December 29, 1957, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Eunice Sloan Smith. Shirley enjoyed coloring, shelling peas, and loved watching Western’s and The Price is Right. She was known to shout “Come on Down!” while watching The Price is Right. She was a member of By The Master’s Hand in Jack’s Creek.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gilford and Nellie Sloan; two aunts and one uncle.
She is survived by her aunt, Pauline McNeil (Larry), whom she called her “Aunt Polly”; her adoptive parents, Paula Ivy (Bobby) and their son John Ivy (Teppie) and their children, Carter, Scarlett, Stephan, and Kayden.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Douglas and Tony Carter officiating. Burial will follow privately in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Ivy, Bobby Ivy, Josh Carle, Danny Bryant, and Tony Carter
