Roy Langston White

Mr. Roy L. White of Jackson, Tennessee passed away on June 26, 2014 at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. White was born on May 28, 1937 in Memphis Tennessee and is the son of the late Bertha Twitty White and Roy Langston White.

Mr. White leaves his wife, Martha Sharpe White of Jackson, Tennessee, a sister Mrs. Bettye Metzer of Selmer, Tennessee. He also leaves sons, Roy Langston White, III (Lanny) and wife Monica Michelle (Shelley) White of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Rev. John Mark White and wife Tina White of Jackson, Tennessee; Patrick Hyden White and wife Jennifer White of Snellville, Georgia; Benjamin Weeks Sharpe V and wife Virginia Lee Sharpe; daughter Elizabeth Sharpe Meena and husband Richard Thomas Meena of Collerville, Tennessee, and Dr. Joseph McConnico Sharpe and wife Elizabeth Gallina Sharpe of Nashville, Tennessee. He also has 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

Mr. White was an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He founded and owned several businesses including, Third Party Solutions. He supported many Christian Charities and schools to include Union University, Jackson State Community, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Ministry to Men, Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA) and Englewood Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers to serve will be Roy Langston White, III, John Mark White, Patrick White, Ben W. Sharpe, Richard T. Meena,and Joseph M. Sharpe, M.D.

Honorary pallbearers are W.G. “Sonny” Dement, Ken Youngblood, Dr. David Dockery, Dr. John Jenkins, Mickey Ison, and Bill Savage.

Funeral services for Mr. White will be held on June 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Fowler officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 12 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. at Englewood Baptist Church. Private interment will follow the services.

Memorials in lieu of flowers should be sent to Englewood Baptist Church, RIFA of Jackson, or the American Cancer Society.
