Madison County farmer Robert Dudley “Buddy” Pearson, 81, son of the late Margaret Pearson and Lowry L. Pearson, passed away on Friday, March 23, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Pearson was the beloved husband of Mary Gene Pearson and the father of nine children, Ann Marie Wranovix (Frank), Barbara Bowen, Cathy Carroll (Mark), Donna Stevens (Bill), Bob Pearson (Marilyn), Beth Tatman (Woody), Lowry Pearson (Bonita), Laura Bran (Eric), and John Pearson (Susan). He is also survived by five sisters, Margaret Virginia Burks, Mary Ruth Hundley, Dorothy Harvey, Anne Ross, and Nancy Earnest; nineteen grandchildren, seven great-children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pearson was an elder of the Claybrook Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served for eleven years as a member of the Madison County School Board and for thirty years as a Trustee of Browns Cemetery Association. He was also a Mason.
The family will receive friends at Smiths North Chapel, 2812 N. Highland, from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 26, and from 10–11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Browns Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
