Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Phillip Duncan will officiate the service.
Mrs. Wilson was born on May 21, 1938 to the late Walter L. and Genella R. Grisham. She was a homemaker and a member of Avalon Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. She played bass guitar and sang beautifully and was a founding member of the Country Sunshine Band. She loved country and gospel music, her family and friends, was loved by many, and will be missed by all. She was an encourager and looked for the good in everyone. She also made the best peanut butter cookies you’d ever put in your mouth!
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Wilson; son, Ricky McCaslin; sisters, Margie Todd and Dorothy Jean Twyman; and brother, Junior Grisham.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Reeves and Rita McCaslin (John Redden) of Jackson; son, Jeffrey McCaslin (Diana) of Decaturville; sister Nancy Martin of Jackson; brother, Danny Grisham (Barbara) of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a large extended family of step children, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the service time at 1:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
