Opal O’Neal Smith, age 97 of Jackson, passed away on January 6, 2021 at Bells Nursing Home in Bells.
She was born on September 8, 1923 in Pocahontas, AR the third youngest of 12 children to the late James and Ginny Mae Hubbard O’Neal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Arthur “Smitty” Smith.
She is survived by her children, Greg Smith (Teresa Miller Smith) of Humboldt and Cindy Kneivel (Stan) of Jackson; (Grandson Spencer Lee Nelson wife Tiffany Hargett Nelson) Great Grand Daughter Raeleigh Brooke Nelson).
Due to the COVID pandemic, the family will hold a private graveside service at Highland Memorial Gardens.
