Nancy Evelyn Cheatham Futrell, age 83 of Jackson passed away December 16th, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born April 23rd, 1934 in Crockett County, TN to Ewell and Serena Adaline Cheatham. After graduating from Alamo High School, she worked for the Jackson Battery Plant and later Townsend Supply Company until her retirement.
She married Charles "Bud" Futrell on September 7th, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 15th, 2011. She is survived by daughters, Sandi (Dean) Barry and Sharon Futrell Smith; grandchildren, Nathan (Renee) Smith, Shelley (Russell) Ramsey, Susan (Paul) Nichols, Serena (Delanie) Calhoun, John (Danielle) Barry and Kathleen (Michael) Stanford; 1 great-grandchild, Myles Barry. She also leaves sisters Zana Fuller, Carolyn Peal, and Marolyn (Burl) Kail; brothers, Billy Cheatham and James Cheatham; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Roy Cheatham.
She was saved at Alamo Baptist Church in Crockett County. She later joined Malesus Baptist Church after her marriage. She was a very faithful member where she sang in the choir, taught the children's choir and taught Sunday School for many years. Nancy Futrell will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was known by many and loved by all.
Visitation will be held with the family on Monday, Dec. 18th at Malesus Baptist Church from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
