Mike was born on September 11, 1955 in Huntsville, AL to the late James Eugene Mincher and Imogene Mincher Jackson. Mike graduated from Humbolt high school in 1973. Then went on to become a certified mechanic through Mckellar Vocational school. Through the years he earned many other advanced training certifications. Mike married the love of his life Sandy Webb on June 18, 1977, they were married 43 years. Mike and Sandy had two sons, Michael Wayne Mincher Jr. and Matthew Webb Mincher. Mike started his career at Jim Miles as an ASC certified mechanic. He then went to work at Gerdau Ameristeel, where he worked his way into a safety supervisor position during the twenty-eight years of employment. Mike went on to work and eventually retire from Golden Circle Ford. Mike enjoyed and participated in all sports.
Additionally, he was an avid outdoorsman, who passed his love of the outdoors on to his sons and grandchildren. Possibly one of Mike’s favorite sports activities was routing his Alabama Crimson Tide to another National Championship. (Roll Tide!!!) Mike came to know the Lord as his Savior at Meridian Baptist Church in 1975. After marring Sandy, they joined Parkburg Baptist Church where Mike served faithfully as a deacon of the church and member of the choir. Through the years Mike served on many committees and in various positions for the church.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sandy Webb Mincher of Pinson; Two sons, Michael Wayne Mincher Jr. (Hillary) of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Matthew Mincher (Kelly) of Imperial, California; His sister Gwen Mincher Ezell (Chuck); Grandchildren, Levi, Abigail, Mason and Caleb Mincher of Imperial California and Michael Wayne Mincher III of Ulaanbaatar Mongolia; As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike’s radiant smile and giant bear hugs made it easy for people to return the love he so generously gave. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services for Mike will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 2p.m. at Parkburg Cemetery with Bro. Danny Rachel, pastor of Parkburg Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family requests memorials be directed to Parkburg Baptist Church in Mike’s name.
