She was born on July 21, 1921 in Beech Bluff, TN to the late Marion and Eura Dunlap Whitworth. She was reared in the Liberty Community in Eastern Madison County. She was employed for over 30 years with Jackson-Madison County General Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Seven of those years she served in the nursery.
She has been a longtime member of West Jackson Baptist Church since the church was on Deaderick St. After the church moved north, she was unable to attend as much but she enjoyed attending the Golden Ager Events and was a member of Mary Brumley's Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gantt; her son, Larry Gantt; and her sister, Mildred Birch.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Glenda Gantt; one son, Jerry Gantt; two sisters, Jewel Replogle and Naomi Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private service and she will be entombed at Highland Memorial Gardens.
