She was born October 31, 1926 in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late William Roland Green and Viola Kathleen McElroy Green. She moved to Jackson with her mother and father when he was transferred by the railroad. She attended MSCW (Mississippi State College for Women) and West Tennessee Business College in Jackson. It was in Jackson where she met and married the love of her life, William Calvin "Jake" Kelly. She worked as a receptionist at several insurance offices and as a teletypist with Sears where she retired.
In addition to her parents and brothers Billy Green and Jack Green, she is preceded in death by her husband William Calvin "Jake" Kelly.
She is survived by her son, Mike and wife Ann Kelly of Bolivar, daughter Kathleen Bryan and husband Dr. David Bryan of Jackson; four grandchildren, Russ and wife Erika Kelly, Megan Kelly Madden and husband Corey, Kyle Bryan, Kelly Bryan and three great grandchildren, William Jake Kelly, Jerry Cole Kelly, and Bryce Allen Madden.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 11-1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The funeral service is to be conducted at 1 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with interment to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
