Mrs. Lewis was born in Clarksburg on August 4, 1924 to the late EJ Cagle and lla Black Cagle. She was the oldest of 3 children, Doris Sue (Bob) Smith and Robert Ray (Jo) Cagle. She graduated from Jackson High and Freed Hardeman College and later in life she continued her education to become a teacher.
In 1951, she married Logan D. Lewis and became a preacher's wife. They served Churches of Christ in Hayti, Missouri; Forrest City Arkansas; Fayetteville, Georgia; Bells, Kenton, Bogota, Neboville, Nance and Gadsden, Tennessee.
Mrs. Lewis stayed at home until her kids were in school, at which time she began her career as a teacher at Crockett Mills High School and then at the Humboldt City Schools until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Logan D. Lewis as well as her siblings.
She is survived by one son, Larry Lewis (Donna) of Jackson and one daughter, Denise Lewis (Chris) of Edmond Oklahoma.
She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Brett (Bethany) of Gadsden, Clay (Lindsay) of Alamo, Ashley (Matthew) of Gadsden, Tara (Tyler) of Edmond, Sarah Kirk of Memphis and Shelby of Edmond. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be CJ and Wess Lewis, Jerry Dunaway, Matthew and Riley Bolding and Tyler Grimes
Visitation services will be Sunday, December 19 from 4-7 pm and Monday, December 20 from 9-10 am at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 20 at 10 am at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial following in Highland Memorial Gardens.
