She was born on February 11, 1933 in the Wood Hill Community to the late Ollie and Ardie Rollins. She was educated in the Madison County Schools and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B. Harry Hughes; brothers, J.L. Rollins, Thomas L. Rollins, and Leon Rollins; and a sister in law, Louise Nelson.
She is survived by her son, Roger Hughes (Janet) and a daughter, Melody Henry (Matthew); grandsons, Adam Hughes (Alicia), David Thyer (Kellie) and Todd Thyer (Windy).
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held at this time. A private burial will be held at Ridgecrest Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to RIFA or the charity of the donor’s choice.
