Joe Alexander Wood

He was born on January 28, 1941 in Bells, TN to Dorothy Tippett Wood and the late William A. Wood. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and Lambuth University, earning a B.A. in Business. He also attended Oaklawn Baptist Church.

Joe was preceded in death by his two brothers, Andy and Jerry Wood.

He is survived by his daughter, Jolie Burris (Paul) of Franklin, TN and Mike Wood (Sherry) of Medina, TN; two grandchildren, Tanner and Gracelyn Burris of Franklin, TN; one step granddaughter, Hannah Casey; his mother, Dorothy Mae Wood and a sister, Anita Wood Brewer.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 12-2 p.m., at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. following the visitation, with Bro. John McLendon officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
