Mrs. Jean Dennis Kelley, age 90 of Union City, formerly of Douglas, AL, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her daughters residence in Union City, surrounded by her family.She was born on October 30, 1924 in Etowah County, Alabama to the late James and Vannie Curry Dennis. She was production worker for Gold Kist for over 20 years, and prior to that worked on the family farm. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, Earnest Kelley; her son, Larry Kelley; two sisters, Jeanette Waldon and Polly Placock; and three brothers, Otis Dennis, Wallace Dennis, and J.B. Dennis. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Kelley (and the late Janey) of Locust Fork, AL and Greg Kelley (Vicky) of Medon, TN; two daughters, Donna Carroll (Donnie) of Union City and Phyllis Farmer (Steve) of Union City; one sister, Ann Whitfield and two brothers, Thurman Dennis and Bobby Dennis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 5 p.m., at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with Interment to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Malesus. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2-5 p.m., at the South Chapel of George A.
