James "Jim" Calvin Wilson

Jim was an avid hunter, Vols fan, and golfer. He enjoyed hunting pheasant in South Dakota, trips to Knoxville for football games and golfing with his Jackson Country Club group, the West TN seniors, and Waynesville N.C group. He had several hole-in-ones.

Jim worked many years for Townsend Electric Company becoming vice president and general sales manager. He was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on many committees. He was a 32nd° Mason, belonging to the St. Johns Lodge #332 over 50 years. Jim was a past president and director of the Jackson Country Club.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Joanne Curlin Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Gay La Grange Wilson, daughters; Patti (Larry) Dale and Donna (Larry) Henderson, brother; Bill (Juanita) Wilson, grandchildren; Christi Dale, Houston (Desiree) Dale, and Stacey (Brandon) Sims; great grandchildren; Kylie Sawyer, Alex, Michael and Christopher Dale, also many nieces and nephews plus his beloved Labradoodle Nikki.

The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Coy of the Jackson Clinic, Dr. Festus Arinze of the Royal Clinic in Humboldt and everyone at the Humboldt Nursing and Rehab Center for over four years of loving care of “Mr. James”.

A graveside service will be conducted on October 14, 2020 at Woodland Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Please wear a mask.
