He was born on August 31, 1942 in Fairfield, IL to the late Lowell and Clara McDuffee Curry. Jim was married to his middle and high school sweetheart, Sandy, for 60 years. He was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin where he studied accounting, and he spent most of his career as an Accountant and Controller. Jim served the Lord faithfully for many years in his church as a Sunday School Teacher, deacon, choir member, and financial secretary. He enjoyed playing golf, being involved in his children’s activities, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Jim spent the majority of his adult life in Collierville, TN where he lived for 35 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Curry Kriesel of Russellville, AR, and his brother, Gary Curry.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra McBride Curry; son Jeff Curry and his wife Kristin of Dallas; daughter Cindy Curry Borgognoni and her husband Tommy of Jackson; son Steven Curry of Colorado Springs; sister Julie Curry Craig of Boynton Beach, FL; and grandchildren Kris Kriesel, Jessica Kriesel Jarman, Trey Borgognoni, Meg Borgognoni, Mia Borgognoni, Matthew Curry, and Marissa Curry.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Jim’s pastor Bro. Gary Snuffin of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
