Jack was born on October 8, 1945 in Jackson, TN, to the late Arthur and Vera Lee Martin Weaver. Jack graduated from South Side High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, TX for many years. In his early career, he worked at Frankland Auto Parts Store on Airways. He retired from Jackson-Madison County School System where he was the Ground Maintenance Foreman. He enjoyed his job and often talked to others about it.
Jack had a deep love for Tennessee Football and for many years kept season tickets. He enjoyed going to see his football team play in the stadium on Saturdays. He always enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball. When his team would lose he loved to tell others what he thought was wrong or what they could have done differently to win. Jack was a Mason and member of Jackson Masonic Lodge 45. He refereed High School football for 47 years. He was looking forward to his 50-year accomplishment of being a football official. He was meticulous about knowing the rules of the game and was a resource for any unusual occurrence. He enjoyed talking about the referee crew that he was in and had many complements of them. In his younger years, he helped coach Little League Baseball and was very successful. His team won several championship games.
Jack was also a member of First Baptist Church of Bemis for many years. He was an avid dog lover and had many of his own in the past. He also enjoyed taking care of his family's dogs. He had a great love for his extended family and friends .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Teresa Solberg.
Ge us survived by his brother, Bobby Weaver (Hilda); one nephew, David Weaver (Donna); one niece, Vicki Smith (Mark); two great nephews, Hunter Smith (Samantha) and Houston Smith; two nieces, Amber Cox (Shane) and Britany Phillips (late Justin Phillips); as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 9-10 a.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers to serve will be Steve Phillips, Raymond Hays, Gerald Parrish, Mike Diggs, Hunter Smith, and Houston Smith.
