He was born on March 27, 1948 in Hammond, Indiana and retired as a Gas Maintenance Foreman after 32 years of service from Jackson Energy Authority. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Homer was a proud and decorated Vietnam Veteran earning many awards including the Combat Infantry Badge, The Bronze Star, The Air Medal, Two Army Commendation Medals and V Device and Service. He was the most decorated member of his unit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alma Moore and his beloved daughter, Melissa A. Moore in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Rita W. Moore; his brother, James E. "Joe" Moore; sister, Marie Coady; niece, Beth Nash; and nephews, Don Coady and Mark Coady.
Private funeral services will be held.
