Gloria Arlene Kemp Franklin

She was born on August 12, 1939 in Watertown, SD to the late Richard and Louise Cates Kemp. She attended Watertown High School and married Dale Franklin, (son of the late Herb and Irene Franklin), also a native of Watertown, in 1959 at the Watertown Wesleyan church. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary later this month.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Dale Franklin of the TN State Veteran's home in Clarksville, TN; her sister Maxine Wagner and husband Hank of Chesterfield, MO; her brother Myron “Bubby” Kemp and wife Maxine of Watertown, SD; and her five children: daughter Cindy Stephenson and husband Mike of Puyallup, WA; her daughter Becky Harper of Clarksville, TN; her daughter Linda Franklin of Jackson, TN; her son Rich Franklin and wife Cindie of Seymore, TN; and her son Todd Franklin and wife Leslie of Murfreesboro, TN. Gloria was also “Granny” to twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 9-10 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. with her brother-in-law Bill Franklin officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN.

The children are asking in lieu of flowers, tribute gift donations be made in memory of Gloria Franklin, and in honor of Dale Franklin, to the Alzheimer’s Association.
