We bid farewell to a beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, Freddie (Ted) George Tosh, who left our world on September 20, 2024, ten days shy of his 78th birthday, peacefully in his home in Jackson, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Freddie Tosh, and brother, Mike. He leaves a legacy through surviving family: brother, Gray (Debbie) and sister Leah Ivy (Carlos), sons Chad (Molly) and Matt (Jane) and grandchildren Gray and Micah.
A pillar of strength, his absence will leave a true void in our hearts. Ted, a native of Jackson, Tennessee, enjoyed baseball and played basketball for Southside High School, graduating in 1964. He pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Martin and went on to receive his Doctorate in Pharmacy from UT Memphis. He worked for various pharmacies throughout the years such as Wal-Mart South and West Drugs, where he was also part-owner.
He has been a solid rock for his wife, Donna, always loving her well and sharing so many happy memories together for 54 years. His love and devotion to his beautiful wife, was an inspiration to us all. Never was there a more patient, kind, generous, godly and devoted husband and father. Ted held many titles throughout his life, but his favorite roles were being a father and grandfather. He adored his two sons and two grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events and anything that showcased their talents.
He enjoyed golf and was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially enjoying outdoor adventures with his sons and lifelong friends. One of his favorite things to do together as a family was watching Tennessee football. GO VOLS!
But, most importantly, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and we are thankful he is celebrating his days in heaven now. In loving memory of Ted Tosh, we invite contributions in his name to Birth Choice at 391 Wallace Road, Jackson, Tennessee, 38305, honoring his legacy and love for family.
As a remembrance and celebration of this special man and to honor Ted’s life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 am at George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home SOUTH, 1544 South Highland in Jackson. A service will follow at 1:00. A graveside ceremony will be held after at Ebenezer Cemetery in Medon, Tennessee. Family, friends and others blessed by Ted’s life are invited to attend.
