Elizabeth Ann Hudgins

Ann was born on February 5, 1929 in Crockett County, TN to the late Albert Cheatham and Bessie Mae Cavin Cheatham. She was educated in the Crockett County Schools. On October 17, 1961, she married Samuel Jarvis Hudgins, who preceded her in death in 2016. In her early years, she worked for Wells Lamont in Brownsville, TN but later worked for the Jackson Madison County School System in the Cafeteria at Pope Elementary School, where she retired. She and her husband were longtime, faithful members of Poplar Corner Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ann was preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice Eubanks, Laverne Colvett, Joe Cheatham, and Fred Cheatham.

She is survived by her four daughters, Sylvia Smith (Wilson) of Spring Valley, CA, Brenda Rowe (Larry) of Pell City, AL, Carol Miller of Yspilanti, MI, and Rene Mizell (Earl) of Jackson, TN; her grandchildren, Jeff Smith of Spring Valley, CA, Drew Reardon (Angela) of Alabaster, AL, Eric Reardon of Alabaster, AL, Sam Cross of Portsmouth, VA, Mark Mizell (Jennifer) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Chris Reeves (Kathryn) of Tecumseh, MI, Amber Elmore of Jackson, Brittany Mizell of Nashville, and Kimberly Haston (Travis) of Knoxville; and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Larry Koonce. Burial will follow in Poplar Corner Cemetery.

Pallbearers to serve will be Drew Reardon, Eric Reardon, Jeff Smith, Mark Mizell, Chris Reeves, and Sam Cross.
